For twenty-five years, Ian has worked with families, couples, and individuals, helping them discover solutions to their difficulties in a safe environment. Filling many roles throughout his career, Ian has never lost sight of his life’s purpose: helping people. He recognizes that while people may search for solutions to their problems, they have busy schedules. That’s why Ian provides day, evening and weekend appointments.

Ian often works with couples and families, as one area of interest, and it makes up a significant portion of his private practice. He also provides clinical supervision to many therapists within private practice and community organizations. Ian provides clinical practice education throughout the years at many organizations and health care facilities within mental health, addictions, and trauma.

Ian has a sizeable clinical background where he specializes in adult and children’s mental health, trauma and concurrent disorders. He has an Advance Clinical Supervision designation from Smith College, School of Social Work, MA, US. He completed levels 1 & 2 in Trauma Therapy at the Hincks-Dellcrest Institute in Toronto. He has a Clinical Traumatologist designation and received clinical supervision from Natalie Zlodre, a well-respected specialist/consultant in trauma.

During his years of practice, Ian has counselled victims of domestic and physical violence, assault, robbery, car accidents, fire, bereavement, child abuse, animal attacks and suicide. Also, he has training in field trauma for larger-scale traumatic events. The agency itself is grounded in trauma-informed clinical practices.

Ian maintains connections to many community services, organizations, and support systems to give the best possible services. He works as the Regional Clinical Supervisor for Addictions and Mental Health at the Niagara Health System and has completed his certification in Advanced Clinical Supervision at Smith College (School of Social Work) in MA, USA. He has worked as a clinical therapist at a residential treatment facility, in outpatient services for substance abuse treatment, in mental health services at several local hospitals and in community organizing.

EXPERIENCE

Michelle has vast experience working with addictions and mental health. Michelle leads mindfulness groups at the agency for clients with anxiety, depression, substance use and ADHD. In the past, Michelle worked in Withdrawal Management Services at the Niagara Health System (NHS). She completed her clinical practicum at the NHS, focusing on mental health. When Michelle provides therapeutic services to a client, she uses the following clinical approaches:
